Spring 2025 has arrived, bringing with it a sense of new beginnings. It’s the perfect season to refresh your personal style, and jewellery is an effortless way to make a statement. This year, expect vibrant colours, bold accessories, and meaningful symbolism to take centre stage.
Jo Hill, lead jewellery stylist and of Hill & Hill The Jewellers, shares her expert insights into the key jewellery trends shaping the season. “The biggest trends emerging this year focus on three themes: making bold statements, embracing nostalgia, and incorporating subtle symbolism.”
From colourful gemstones to chunky statement pieces, here’s what to expect in the world of jewellery this spring:
Another standout stone? Watermelon tourmaline. “Set in diamond halos, it's a look that's both fresh and sophisticated,” says Jo.
“What I love about coloured gemstones is how they can instantly transform an outfit and make it feel truly personal. Whether you're drawn to the classic elegance of emeralds or something a bit more playful with watermelon tourmaline, these stones offer a way to express who you are through a simple yet definitive touch.”
2. Bold Statement Pieces
“Whether you're heading to a garden party or just want to elevate your everyday look, statement pieces aren’t just about grabbing attention; they're about helping to make you feel as bold and confident on the outside as you are on the inside.”
“To really make a statement, I’d recommend pairing pieces with minimalist and understated outfits to really create a sense of dramatic flair,” Jo advises.
3. Welded Bracelets
“Welded bracelets have been gaining traction since the 2022-2023 season, and from what I’ve seen, they’ll continue to be one of the biggest trends this spring,” Jo notes.
“It’s not hard to see why. Welded bracelets go beyond being simple accessories; they represent lasting bonds and cherished relationships shared between friends and loved ones. They can be a powerful personal reminder and a way to share that commitment with the world in a beautifully symbolic way.”
“The personal touch of adding charms makes each piece special. What I love is how they blend emotional significance with practicality. It's a beautiful way to literally wear your heart on your sleeve in a way that’s simple, elegant and truly meaningful.”
4. Year of the Snake
“Snake pendants, charms and rings have always been seriously cool, but as 2025 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac, serpentine pieces are one of the big spring jewellery trends we’re seeing.”
“It’s not hard to see the appeal. The sleek, sinuous vibe lends itself beautifully to jewellery design. Whether it's a delicate pendant curling around the neckline or an eye-catching ring wrapping around your finger, we’ll see some incredibly versatile designs this year. Serpentine designs can also evoke a sense of transformation and everlasting love - a perfect vibe as we head into spring.”
5. Bursts of Colour
“I think it’s why we’re seeing a move towards colourful beads, bright enamels paired with titanium or gold, and mismatched earrings with pops of different colours. Jewellery has always been about self-expression and it’s really refreshing to see these bold, confident and outgoing colours and style choices, especially as we hit the spring season.”
6. Initial Jewellery
“Letter-shaped jewellery is a trend we’ve been seeing more and more, and I think it’s down to a mix of that desire for self-expression and a sense of nostalgia. This trend had its moment in the early 2000s, and I love to see it making a comeback.
“There are so many ways to style these designs. Whether you're wearing your own initial, a loved one's, or spelling out a meaningful word, these pieces allow you to share that love in a subtle yet powerful way. It can be your own little secret - something that can be just for you or to share with the people you love.”
“It's not just necklaces - we're seeing letters pop up in everything from rings to bracelets and even piercing jewellery. You can go for a classic look with a delicate initial pendant on a fine gold chain, or go bold with chunky letter earrings. It's a brilliant way to add that sense of individuality that has become a key theme this year.”
7. Curated Ears
“I really love that this trend has continued to gain momentum. What's exciting is how truly creative and versatile it is; there are so many different styles and combinations to choose from and no two are the same. Each ear is like its own art show, with different pieces on display,” says Jo.
“It’s also a style choice that grows with you. You can start small with a couple of piercings and add more as you go, incorporating different elements like coloured stones or initial jewellery to reflect your changing style or life events.”
“And the best part? There's no right or wrong way to do it. If you prefer delicate, minimalist pieces or expressive statement studs, everyone can find their own unique style. I think this is a trend we’ll see more of, not just in spring but throughout 2025.”
