Did you know the 30th of July is World Friendship Day? Since 2011 this has been a day when friendships have been celebrated across the world. Let's have a look at what friendships are really about and how you can win a friendship bracelet with Boutique Of Diamonds. Most of us have several friends but maybe a couple of closer friends that really matter to us, especially as we get older. The friends that we can confide in, are there when you are heartbroken and they know how to be there for someone, even if just to listen. Friends, especially good ones, are invaluable. Good friends can help with emotional support. They are the ones that are there and listen to your moans, your worries and are there for you in a crisis. They are there for you day or night. If you have friends around you that don't make you happy, are mean to you and drain you in their company, then ditch them, they are not real friends.

Give constructive criticism

Although they love you and are kind to you they are also good at giving constructive criticism, when you ask for it. They can give you another perspective you maybe hadn’t thought of and their criticism isn't destructive because they want what is best for you. Good friends are effective at giving criticism that is helpful, showing you what you can do to improve your situation.

They can make you laugh

Humour is subjective but often good friends make you laugh. Being with them is a joy and you feel uplifted in their company. I have a good friend like this that just exudes joy and it's fun being around her. I always look forward to meeting up with her because she's a brilliant friend and we get each other’s sense of humour.

Give you a sense of belonging and being needed

Friends can make you feel needed and give you that sense of belonging. They become part of your tribe. Of course, friends are all individual and each friend has different strengths so it's good to have a few different friends around you. Friends that you share interests with, that you go to an exercise class with, friends that you went to school with, friends that you met on Facebook, they don't need to be the closest friends to be part of your tribe.
