Tenerife
Tenerife is the largest of the islands and is famous for Mount Teide, the highest point in Spain and a dormant volcano. The island has black lava beaches but also has sandy beaches too. Tenerife's main tourist destinations include Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas as well as the Siam Park theme park and the Pyramids of GüÃmar.
Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria is one of the greenest Canary Islands. It has an incredibly diverse natural landscape, from desert to tropics and snow-topped mountains. Visit the Natural Dune Reserve of Maspalomas or JardÃn Botánico Canario Viera y Clavijo, a gorgeous botanical park. If you are a nature lover you will adore Gran Canaria.
Lanzarote
Lanzarote is another magical landscape on the Canary Islands. With its moon-like Timanfaya National Park, a Unesco Biosphere Reserve, it really is otherworldly. Check out Jameos del Agua caves, an underground cave system that has home to a restaurant, pool, auditorium and bar, and the town of Teguise, the oldest settlement in the Canary Islands with gorgeous white buildings and a great Sunday market. La Gomera
La Gomera, one of the smallest of the main islands has dense forests, volcanic mountains and stunning little villages. It's a beautiful and idyllic island and quieter than the largest islands. Hike in the UNESCO-listed Garajonay National Park, watch the dolphins and whales from the south of the island and visit the capital San Sabastian for a laid back but animated atmosphere.
