Emma is a well-known award-winning money saving and money making blogger with her own column in Closer magazine and is regularly featured in the press and on TV. She has excellent credentials and herself makes over £5000 a month on a regular basis from affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is where a content creator provides a link to a product or a service and when a visitor clicks through to a sign-up or purchase, the content creator takes a commission for that sale or sign-up.
What I learnt in the course
The course is easy to navigate and delivered with videos by Emma herself.
Affiliate marketing is a passive income that comes in from your blog. You don't need your own products to sell and you can make money from it every month, from anywhere in the world and you don't have to do anything other than installing the affiliate links and registering with the companies involved. There are so many niches that you can use affiliate marketing for, in fact, almost all bloggers can use it successfully.
The content should be obviously identifiable that you are using affiliate links. Emma explains this better in her course. For social media #ad or #aff is often used and Emma gives a sample disclosure policy that she uses on her blog footer. It's important to disclose that you are using affiliate marketing on your blog as that is the law in the UK.
Emma looks at what brands you should affiliate to and gets you to think about what your audience really wants. She then goes on to discuss finding affiliate programmes to join. A useful video is the one about working with networks vs working directly with the company. There are plus points and negatives of both, and Emma gives you her top tips on her How To Smash Affiliate Marketing As A UK Blogger course. This is invaluable insider information from someone who has used many of the top affiliate schemes.
The next section is about serving your audience, blog posts that your audience need, and how readers will seek out your affiliate link for creating content that really helps them. A great idea that Emma flags up is to create content based on your top ten blog posts. Just go to Google Analytics to identify these. Also go back and create affiliate marketing links on these actual top blog posts as well.
We all know that being authentic as a blogger is so important and Emma flags up that it is key to promote products that are true to you and what you love and also true to your audience. They will then be more likely to use your recommended link.
Email lists are discussed as well as blog shops and how to use affiliate links in these areas. I found the section on tools that have helped Emma to supercharge her income very useful too. There is more to discover on the course but I don't want to give it all away.
What is special about this course?
How To Smash Affiliate Marketing As A UK Blogger is one of the only courses out there for UK bloggers.
The course comes in easy to listen to chunks which you can go back to and replay at any time. Practical examples are given and shown in the video of how and where to create affiliate links.
What I found useful is that Emma has a workbook so you can record and analyse your progress. A Facebook group is also linked to the course for support and guidance - you can ask any questions in there and Emma and her admin team will help you.
The course is written by Emma herself and her experience and knowledge in using affiliate marketing really shine through. I thought it was an enjoyable course and demystifies many areas of affiliate marketing.
How much is it?
How To Smash Affiliate Marketing As A UK Blogger is £49 or $75. If you are serious about making money from affiliate marketing then I think this is a great price and I honestly thought the course was extremely useful especially if you don't know where to start with affiliate marketing.
Courses like these are usually tax deductible but best to check this out with your local tax office to be sure.
I now have a list of things to put into practice and I am sure I will smash affiliate marketing in the next few months. I could do with earning an extra £5000 a month, couldn't you? If I only make an extra £100 a month the course would have paid for itself. Highly recommended.
Do you use affiliate marketing at the moment?
*Affiliate links are used in this post, if you sign up I get a commission. I was offered the course free of charge for an honest review.

DeleteWhat a fab course! My blog is my hobby but this is good to know for future!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fantastic course, Mel. I may have to head on over to Emma's blog and give it a go. I often make affiliate sales from product reviews, but once the product is out of stock the sales die off. It would be good to make a steadier income from affiliate sales :)
