Whisk Her Away This Valentine's Day

Us ladies are a demanding bunch. In a recent survey when asked what their deal Valentine gift would be, a large proportion of women questioned said a holiday away. So where are the perfect destinations for love?

Paris is the city of love, or so it is said. Travel and Leisure magazine readers rated it Number 1 for romance, citing the grand architecture, the beautiful Parisians, the language and the food as oh so sexy. A trip on the River Seine by candlelight is a must for true romantics.

Venice is picturesque and busy! To find romance, seek out little unknown neighbourhoods and restaurants away from St Marks Square or even better eat like a local at a bacaro and go out of high season.

Florence, with its red roof buildings and amazing art often leaves visitors love struck in its beauty. The city which inspired Michelangelo, is also loved for the Tuscan cuisine.  A truly romantic story book city.

San Francisco scores high for amazing seafood and has a wealth of interesting neighbourhoods, think of the loved up photos you could get with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, or take a ferry to pretty Sausalito. Only a short drive away is the Napa Valley, so climb aboard the Napa wine train for a romantic meal on a historic coach through rolling vineyards.

If you want to whisk her away this Valentines Day, why not book an executive lounge for a luxury start to the holiday.

Tell me, where are the romantic locations you love so much? Have you ever been given a romantic weekend away?

* I was gifted executive lounge passes to write this post, all words and opinions are my own

  1. We tend to just take our romantic weekends in the UK, but San Francisco would be amazing! I love that city!

  3. I loved visiting Paris, it was definitely a very romantic place. I wouldn't mind going back for Valentine's Day and certainly booking an executive lounge would be a great start to our break x

  4. I agree - being whisked away is much higher on my list than lingerie. I wouldn't mind where - just a night away from the kids would be great!

  5. I've never been a fan of Valentines Day. Travelling to different places is great anyway. Went to San Francisco in August once and noticed how cold it was. The weather can get quite funny there x
