Today I am starting a new series of weekly posts called Like Loathe Love, linking up from the lovely Bex at Futures. I will dip in and out of this linky as the year progresses and if I feel particularly strongly about a subject. All these posts are meant to be light hearted in nature :)
This week I am liking
Millionaire Matchmaker (Photo credit: freeloosedirt) |
This week I am loathing
Beards - ok it may be a controversial one this. Since when has it been trendy to get a beard, not a little cute goatee but a full on beard? If it is well looked after and trimmed (like a hedge), it can look ok but young men with full on bushy beards - yuck! You can just imagine a fried egg or even a birds nest hiding in there. If they don't have a moustache to match it looks even worse, just my humble opinion....
This week I am loving
Russell Kane. I am a big fan of stand up and I am lucky to have a theatre 5 minutes from where I live. A couple of years ago I went to the Edinburgh festival with my teenage son and we loved it. So when a few friends of mine decided to see Russell Kane the stand up comedian in the theatre down the road I was like the man from Del Monte... I said YES! I have actually seen him before at the same theatre before he became famous, in the basement, but now on the full stage playing to a packed crowded I couldn't help notice how more self assured and brilliant his act his. His material - witty, sharp, highly observed comedy was hilarious. Definitely recommended.
What are your likes, loathes and loves this week?
*disclaimer all the thoughts and words are my own I was not told what to say! ;)
I do not like beards on my man. Dread Movember, know its a good cause and support it and my whiskery love (he does not get as many kisses though), I hate the prickly feeling. I do not foist a hairy leg, armpit or even a moustache on my husband so do not like one back. I am with you but my friends and I argue fiercely about this, some adore beards.
ReplyDeleteMy son grows a moustache for Movember so I don't have to put up with my husband with one lol.
DeleteI'm definitely with you on beards. Not my thing. I haven't seen the millionaire matchmaker and am now intrigued!
ReplyDeleteYou have to watch it!
Deletemy hubby has a goatee, which is fine. However, when he shaved that off in order to grow a full on 70s moustache for Movember it nearly broke me.
ReplyDeleteAwe at least it's only one month a year and he's highlighting a great cause.
DeleteOh I agree with Millionaire Matchmaker! I cringe SO much whilst watching that show sometimes, but it's so entertaining haha :) faye xx
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed Faye :)
Deleteme too a great fan of stand up comedy :)
ReplyDeleteI just love it!
Deletei like the idea of like, love, loathe. This week I'm loving spending more time with my little girl now the boys are back at school. I'm liking sneaking onto the computer while she has her lunchtime nap. I'm loathing having to make secondary school choices for my son as it is far from straightforward in his case. x
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain on the secondary school choices. xx
DeleteNo to beards here either. I do think it looks a bit weird on young men - guess it's them trying to prove their masculinity?
ReplyDeleteYes maybe Emma.
DeleteI am not a fan of bearded men either .
ReplyDeletePhew glad I'm not alone lol.
DeleteBeards are sexual. Not on women though....
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not on women and mostly not on men ;)
DeleteI'm not a fan of beards either!
ReplyDeleteThat makes two of us!
